Our Services

Our experienced veterinary team includes two veterinary surgeons, with one holding a certificate in Diagnostic Imaging and the other currently undertaking a surgery certificate. This additional training and knowledge allows us to offer to more in-depth services, including top-of-the-range digital X-ray and ultrasound. In addition, we have provision for a visiting orthopaedic specialist to perform surgeries on our patients, reducing the need for you and your beloved pet to travel to access these services.

The team also includes our qualified veterinary nurses, who offer nurse clinics for diet, weight management, and pet dental care advice, and routine care procedures like clipping nails, expressing anal glands, and routine injections. Our nurses will also care for your pet if they stay with us, ensuring they are comfortable and administering medication.

As an independent vet practice, we aim to provide more personal care to our clients and their pets by considering the needs of each individual pet and their owner. Being independent also allows us to offer competitive prices, meaning more affordable vet care for your pet. Every consultation includes a pet health check and our vets are happy to discuss neutering options for your pets based on their individual needs.

Our Facilities

Brand new facilities…

Pawsome Vets is based at beautiful, clean, newly-fitted premises, offering spacious consult rooms, state-of-the-art equipment, modern theatres, and welfare-optimised kennels. As a previous GP surgery, the space was the perfect fit for a new, independent, veterinary practice to serve the pets and pet owners of Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, and Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

Welfare-optimised kennels…

Visiting the vet can be an anxious time for pets. Our aim is to put animal welfare first. We handle all of our patients with respect. If they have to stay in, we have spacious, comfortable, thermoregulated kennels with an alert when the temperature goes outside the ideal range. These measures minimise any stress experienced by our patients.

Prioritising your pet’s experience…

We are committed to making our more nervous patients more at ease through the layout and design of our practice. Separate waiting areas for dogs and cats, with species-specific consult rooms nearby, help to minimise stress caused by seeing, hearing, or smelling other patients. Our practice also has a separate dog and cat ward, as well as isolation facilities to prevent the spread of infection among our hospitalised patients.

Designed to provide the best patient and client care…

The Pawsome Vet practice in Sutton-in-Ashfield is spacious and clean, but it’s also been designed with its purpose in mind. Our five large consultation rooms allow plenty of space for us to meet and greet you and your pet and put you both at ease before the examination. One of our consultation rooms is a dedicated euthanasia suite, so that we can provide calmness, compassion, and privacy during your final goodbye.

Our operating theatre is state-of-the-art and newly fitted and allows us to perform a variety of surgical procedures, from routine neutering to emergency surgeries. Our imaging suite, containing our digital X-ray and ultrasound, is at the far end of the practice, which ensures the safety of our other patients, clients, and staff.

In-house laboratory equipment…

At Pawsome Vets, Mansfield, we have brand new state-of-the-art facilities. This includes a large variety of in-house laboratory equipment; allowing us to have your pet’s test results and start their treatment quickly. Being able to run general blood tests and those for health conditions, such as Cushing’s and Addison’s disease, at our practice doesn’t just mean quicker results, it’s also more cost-effective, meaning tests will be available at a reduced price.

  What an amazing vets. Took my cat who had lost his appetite and was being lethargic. After some scans and xrays they discovered that the diaphragm had ruptured and his intestines and other organs had moved into his chest! They operated on him immediately working very late into the night on friday to solve the issues. All the staff there do an amazing job and really do care about your pets wellbeing. We can't thank you all enough for saving Blaze. I felt my cat was in the best place possible from the first visit and Pawsome vets deserve every 5 star review they get.

  The vets and all the staff at Pawsome vets care about the health and wellbeing of your pets, they take the time to really get to know your pets, both of my dogs have been there this week snoopy with allergies and peanut for her blabber scan and the removal of 2 lumps, they couldn’t be in safer hands, I was kept updated through out the day for peanut, she is back home now and recovering, thank you to you all, I would recommend this vet practise Pawsome vets in Sutton in Ashfield to anyone there amazing thank you Pawsome vets

  Highly recommend this practice. Sorted our dogs problem in two weeks. The same issue she had been suffering with since Christmas and hadn’t shown any improvement at our original vets. Everything is explained thoroughly and compassionately. By far the best vets we have seen for a very long time.   If you are looking for caring, dedicated, affordable vets, this is the place to go! I am so happy that I switched over to Pawsome Vets, they most likely saved my little dog's life! He had been suffering with chronic vomiting and diarrhoea off and on for many months. We had been to our previous vet many times and even to a referral specialist and to be honest, no one seemed to really be listening to our concerns and to care enough to investigate. At our first appointment at Pawsome, they listened to us and were immediately determined to figure out what was wrong. They suggested an ultrasound, which they had the equipment to do themselves, and discovered he had a massive foreign body in his stomach. They did surgery on him to remove it and he is now recovering very well and is back to his old happy self. Throughout the entire process, the vets and the entire staff have been so caring, concerned and supportive towards our dog and us, and kept us well-informed every step of the way. With five pets, I've tried pretty much all the vets in the Sutton in Ashfield area over the years and Pawsome Vets are the very best of them, far and above the others. As a bonus, they are independent so their prices are far less than our previous vet as well. I highly recommend them!

  Very lovely vet practice! My dog is most nervous and makes herself ill with the anxiety she gets! However this vets were different, I called them last min on a Saturday and we were offered an appointment straight away which is amazing for a saturday and helps cater for working people. When we arrived we were late as we got lost, there was no annoyed faces just smiles and a welcoming hand. They made such a fuss of my dog, even the receptionist came to say hello along with the vet they made myself and my dog feel at ease instantly, also I noticed the prices were better than other local vets. I was anxious too and the vet noticed this and asked if I would like them to take my dog with another vet to assist it holding my dog as I was worried which again eased my anxiety a lot. They also gave her a full check over which again was brilliant as I was advised things I wasn’t too sure about. It wasn’t the news any animal parent wants to hear but I appreciated there honesty and they made sure I was supported through this again which was so lovely of them! I could literally write an essay on all the positive points of this veterinary practice because they were so good. I would recommend them to anyone, I can even message the vet to update them on the new app and gain advise without putting my dog through the stress of going back for advise.
10 out of 10 from me! I do hope as this newly discovered vets stays so positive as they grow bigger as I say it was a lovely from start to end! Keep it up guys you’re doing an amazing job!
