Services & Facilities

Our Services

Our experienced veterinary team includes two veterinary surgeons, with one holding a certificate in Diagnostic Imaging and the other currently undertaking a surgery certificate. This additional training and knowledge allows us to offer to more in-depth services, including top-of-the-range digital X-ray and ultrasound. In addition, we have provision for a visiting orthopaedic specialist to perform surgeries on our patients, reducing the need for you and your beloved pet to travel to access these services.

The team also includes our qualified veterinary nurses, who offer nurse clinics for diet, weight management, and pet dental care advice, and routine care procedures like clipping nails, expressing anal glands, and routine injections. Our nurses will also care for your pet if they stay with us, ensuring they are comfortable and administering medication.

As an independent vet practice, we aim to provide more personal care to our clients and their pets by considering the needs of each individual pet and their owner. Being independent also allows us to offer competitive prices, meaning more affordable vet care for your pet. Every consultation includes a pet health check and our vets are happy to discuss neutering options for your pets based on their individual needs.

Our Facilities

Brand new facilities…

Pawsome Vets is based at beautiful, clean, newly-fitted premises, offering spacious consult rooms, state-of-the-art equipment, modern theatres, and welfare-optimised kennels. As a previous GP surgery, the space was the perfect fit for a new, independent, veterinary practice to serve the pets and pet owners of Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, and Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

Welfare-optimised kennels…

Visiting the vet can be an anxious time for pets. Our aim is to put animal welfare first. We handle all of our patients with respect. If they have to stay in, we have spacious, comfortable, thermoregulated kennels with an alert when the temperature goes outside the ideal range. These measures minimise any stress experienced by our patients.

Prioritising your pet’s experience…

We are committed to making our more nervous patients more at ease through the layout and design of our practice. Separate waiting areas for dogs and cats, with species-specific consult rooms nearby, help to minimise stress caused by seeing, hearing, or smelling other patients. Our practice also has a separate dog and cat ward, as well as isolation facilities to prevent the spread of infection among our hospitalised patients.

Designed to provide the best patient and client care…

The Pawsome Vet practice in Sutton-in-Ashfield is spacious and clean, but it’s also been designed with its purpose in mind. Our five large consultation rooms allow plenty of space for us to meet and greet you and your pet and put you both at ease before the examination. One of our consultation rooms is a dedicated euthanasia suite, so that we can provide calmness, compassion, and privacy during your final goodbye.

Our operating theatre is state-of-the-art and newly fitted and allows us to perform a variety of surgical procedures, from routine neutering to emergency surgeries. Our imaging suite, containing our digital X-ray and ultrasound, is at the far end of the practice, which ensures the safety of our other patients, clients, and staff.

In-house laboratory equipment…

At Pawsome Vets, Mansfield, we have brand new state-of-the-art facilities. This includes a large variety of in-house laboratory equipment; allowing us to have your pet’s test results and start their treatment quickly. Being able to run general blood tests and those for health conditions, such as Cushing’s and Addison’s disease, at our practice doesn’t just mean quicker results, it’s also more cost-effective, meaning tests will be available at a reduced price.

It was the first time our 11 month old visited a surgery, the staff was lovely, even after our puppy urinated everywhere even when we went into the room to see the vet.

Highly recommend this practice. Sorted our dogs problem in two weeks. The same issue she had been suffering with since Christmas and hadn’t shown any improvement at our original vets. Everything is explained thoroughly and compassionately. By far the best vets we have seen for a very long time. We have no hesitation in recommending them, in fact we actively encourage people to register as soon as possibly.

We was registered with another vets and other than taking our dog for his 6monthly healthchecks through his pet plan there, he' never needed any treatment however he was always so anxious throughout his healthcheck even just arriving in the car park so when Jack started limping and we wanted him checking we knew going would be extremely stressful for him so we decided to look for somewhere else and found Pawsome Vets. To be honest I am so thankful we did, I registered first thing in the morning and by 9.30 had an appointment for that same day. We had his Consultation with Sergiu and he was a very friendly vet, geuine and kind almost identifying immediately what he thought it was, he explained everything and was very thorough and Jack didn't seem anxious at all. We arranged for him to go back for xrays and again when we arrived Jack ran into the vets and wasn't anxious at all. The xrays confirmed what Sergiu had said. Since that point I have had a few calls with Pawsome vets just to ask a few other questions and whether it be the vet himself, Amber, Ali aswell as the other vet they have been nothing but helpful and helped us make a decision on a way forward aswell as sorting the claim through our insurance. I feel v grateful we came across this vetinary practice and cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you team for excellent care of Jack and customer service 5🌟

100%recomend pawsome vets! I always get an appointment when I need one, which with 6 dogs I need! My dogs suffer from allergies and I have one with breaking damage who is reactive. The staff and vets here are so patient with them especially my reactive boy, and have strived to build positive relationships with all of my dogs. Ali the receptionist / general angel! Goes a million miles extra for you and it means we come away worry free!

Been so long since I came across a vets that genuinely care and are not out to rip you off. From the initial phone call with concerns about our dog to the consultation itself. He explained everything to me. Including a breakdown of costs. I felt like I could trust them and that they would do all they could to help our sick dog. I wouldn't go anywhere else now. Amazing veterinary surgery
